    neighbouring county, a henchman reported the 'Bobbies' were getting hot on the trail, and as the illicit distiller did not wish to lose his 'rum', he had to conveyed on a dark night to the lawn of the local landlord, who kept cattle grazing on the good pasturage there occasionally, with several large sized wooden tubs in which the water was placed for the animals to drink from . The distiller, and his men emptied out the water, put the poteen in its place and then silently took their departure, but the next day some of the cattle were observed to be staggering about, and all sorts of theories were put forward by the local vet as to what they were suffering from.
