    Long ago in Ireland the alleged 'good brand of mountain dew' came from grain and after it was ready, certain people who were able to afford it, bought a small keg of the liquor buried it in the garden, where after it had remained for five or six years to cool off or 'mature', it was unearthed, and a very little given to special friends as a treat. But there was a man in a certain town in Cavan who was making the poteen in such large quantities that he became a regular menace to the district, and although the Royal Irish Constabulary were ever on the alert, they signally failed to obtain a clue of the offenders identity.
