    Mother Erin, she calls on her sons, and brave daughters.
    To assemble in their thousands this great August day.
    To honour the memory of brave Myles the "Slasher",
    Who died for old Erin on the Bridge of Finnea.

    But, the brave men of Longford did nobly defend it
    And they died to a man on the Bridge of Finnea.
