  2. Mr Chapman was a famour Quaker who lived in Cootehill. He was very honest, very upright, but a little bit peculiar.
    One day a man asked him for a match.
    Mr Chapman gave him one match. The man went over to the fire and lit the other end of the match in the fire, and lit his pipe. Mr Chapman said to him, "Since thou art so careful, I will give thee a whole box". For many years that was said to children who were very careful.
