  1. Care of the Feet
    In former days people were fully grown before they wore boots or shoes. Even then the people only wore them on very important occasions. They carried them on their arm to the end of the journey then they put them on.
    There are no shoemakers in the district now, but there were long ago. The boot factory has taken the place of the shoemakers.
    There is a man in the district named George Faulkner who makes "clogs". These are leather tops with wooden soles. Most of the country folk wear these "clogs".
