    Eight o'clock in the morning we start,
    With a break for some lunch around twelve;
    Half-five is the hour for retiring;
    The rest of the day to ourselves.

    They constructed a boat at Belturbet
    With a dredger well out to her prow;
    To scour up Erne's wide water,
    Which could not be reached from the shore.

    Some places of interest she called at,
    I'll mention to-night if I can;
    She sailed up by famous Lock Aughter
    And halted for some time at "Rann."
    XIII
    "Killykeen" was her next port for calling,
    Where some of the crew were discharged;
    Then she sailed for a place called "The Derries"
    An outlet up there she enlarged.

    The homeward she turned for "Trinity",
    But a storm arose on the way;
    And she sank mid the wild - rolling billows
    In the mouth of the Island's broad bay
