- There are five black smiths in this parish. Their names are John Joe Green, Thomas Myles, Jack Reynolds, Mr. Dunne and Mr. Wilson. The Green families have been blacksmiths for generations.
John Joe Green's forge is situated near the river Erne in the town of Belturbet; Jack Reynold's is in Kilconny, Belturbet; Thomas Myles's is at Gannon's Cross at cross roads; Mr Dunne's is beside Drumalure Church and Mr. Wilson is in the village of Redhills.
Green's forge has a thatched roof and Myles's, Wilson's, Dunne's and Reynold's have galvanized iron roofs. They all have half-doors. there is only one fire in each of the forges.
The implements the smiths use are an anvil, a bellows, a sledge, a tongs, a punch and a rasp(continues on next page)- Collector
