The smith in our village makes ploughs, harrows, turf spades, iron gates and pothooks. Sometimes he shoes horses outside the forge door.
The forge is a place for great gossip and in the evenings men gather into it and sit round and talk. After Mass on Sundays they also visit it.
Our blacksith - Mr Miles - is a very strong man, he has strong muscles and strong arms. He is also a very friendly man.
