    Ballyjamesduff is the name of our district.

    always die. A man is supposed to have explored the interior of the fort and found guns but I do not know if this is true.
    The old Irish people were supposed to have built it, and the high trees and high fence are supposed to have kept out the Danes. Some people say that it was an old military station. The fairies are to be seen churning, kicking football singing and dancing every night. People say that all forts were the homes of fairies long ago.
    Some of the people have tried to plough but the horse would not go, or some-thing would always happen. There is a fort six miles from here where there was a great number of stones with ancient names inscribed upon them. The owner of this fort took some of the stones and put them on his lawn and music was heard on the lawn every night afterwards. This fort is in Killinkere.
    Not very far from the town in Castleraghan there is a moat where a treasure is supposed to be hidden. Many attempts have been made but none were successful.
    Once it is said a man tried to plough on it, but the plough was pulled down through the moat making a dreadful noise which was heard by many people about the place. also there is a
