- Long ago people used to get a jam-pot and half fill it full of water, put a lemonade bottle into the jam-pot and keep it aired tight. This would tell what sort the weather would be. If the weather would be good the water went up in the neck of the bottle, and if the weather would be bad the water went down in the jam-pot.
If the sky is low and all white it is the sign of snow.- Collector

- It is a sign of rain to see the crane at the river.
If there are two sharp horns on the moon or if the trees make shadows in the lake it is also a sign of rain.
