    nothing to what the mother got, then the sons and so on, such a ruille buille as was there in a minute no one ever saw and poor Jack was in a terrible state, but no matter what he did or how he tried to stop it the stick kept on.
    At last the woman ran to the room and brought down the hen. 'Be out of this' , says she, before we are all dead. Jack called to the stick but was no use, so after a minute or two the man ran and brought back the tablecloth. Be off now, says he, and never let me see you face about the place again.
    The very minute Jack started the stick came to his hand and off he went. It was a grand night and Jack never stopped till he got home, and this time she wasn't disappointed for Jack brought his fortune.
    After a time Jack said to his mother that they would go and thank the little woman. They got a grand carriage and set out, but
