Beggarmen travel on foot from house to house begging for alms of some sort, they usually bring little knick-knacks with them such as brooches, flowers, hairpins, spools, collar-buttons or such articles, in order to pretend to the Civic Guards that they are not begging, but that they are only selling little articles.
Gipsies are the grandest and most interesting people of all the travelling folk. They are not at all like the tinkers they clothe and support themselves with the best that their money(continues on next page)- Informant
