    told of a terrible accident which took place off the coast of Mayo a few decades of years ago. Three brave families said that they did not care about the sea or Saint Martin that they would go fishing. When out a half a mile from shore in the midst of threatening breakers they suddenly saw in front of them a hand making signs to them to beware and return to land. One boat returned but the other two carried on their unlucky voyage and laughed at their chirking oars, but little they thought they would never see land again. The breakers claimed their prey and the poor fishermen
