- When Donaghmore Church, situated east of the parish of Clerihan was being built, the Goban Saor passed that way. He stood looking on. When the builders were going to their dinner, he asked them what would he be doing while they were gone, as they didn't ask him with them. They answered "Make a cat with 2 tails." When they came back it was beautifully carved one the ass, but the Goban Saor was gone. They then knew who it was and they followed him to Horse and Jockey to kill him, but he escaped. The stone was stolen out of the ruin by a Thurles carman and brought to Thurles. It was last seen at the railway bridge, Thurles, embedded in the masonry.
