  1. The Creamery
    The first Creamery founded in the Clogheen district was started in Flemingstown Mill about a mile north of the town by a Mr Merrick, after the old corn mill there ceased working about 60 years ago. This creamery was working 10 or f 15 years when he gave up the business. Then a Mr Brazil started a creamery where the present one stands about the year 1852.
    He continued working this as a private concern up to the year 1918, when the creameries were re-organised by the Government. It was then amalgamated with the Suirvale Co-operative Dairy Society, Cahir,
