From John Corry Coolmeen Ennis Co Clare - In the year 1887 Michael McMahons rick of hay was burned in Gurtnaha. He had the hay in an out side farm On that night a boy named Mickey McMahon came and put a match to the hay and lit it. When he saw it burned he went to the police and told them. - In the years 1875-1885 there used to be many Faction fights in Kilmurry. These fights used to be between the Garrowens and the Norways. On every fair day at Kilmurry these two parties would meet. At ten o clock in the day they would start fighting with black-thorn sticks and wattles in the end of them. There used to be many wounded in the fight. Sometimes they used to meet at Kilmihil and start fighting there too.(continues on next page)
