- A Ghostly Funeral
One night as my father and Edmond Coady of Joanstown were going rambling to a neighbouring house about twenty five years ago they met four men carrying a coffin between Coughlans of Coolroe and Coadys of Joanstown. The men were dressed in blue robes and all around the coffin shone a blue light. My father and his companion stood aside and made the Sign of the Cross on their foreheads and the men passed on with the coffin. Behind the coffin walked a crowd on men dressed in white flannel waist-coats and none of them spoke or looked.- Informant
