“The following song was composed on The Drowning at Lough Sillan...”
(continued from previous page)The fathers they were frantic
And the mothers screaming wild
O my God above where is my love
My only darling child.
VII
May the Lord comfort their parents
And their friends now to implore
Who were left behind to mourn the loss
Who on earth shall see no more
And may the Lord on high who was witness to this sad tragedy
With his all-seeing eye.
May the master and the scholars
The monitor and his wife
Who went a boating on Lough Sillan
Where they lost their precious life.
