- (continued from previous page)Asses but not cattle. The only farm implements he makes are harrows but he repairs all implements. The shoeing of wheels and very often shoeing of horses and Asses is done in the open air.
- In this parish there are three forges.
The names of the smiths are :-
Mr. Mac Donnell.
Mr. Flynn.
Mr. Clarke.
These people's fathers were blacksmiths and they gave the trade to their sons. Mac Donnells forge is situated in Lisnalong. Flynn's and Clarke's are situated in the town. These forges are along the edge of the road near a stream. The forge has no special kind of build, the roof is sometimes made of galvinized iron, at other times of Slates.- Collector
