  1. 3. There are certain prayers the old Irish said at different times. For example when going to bed this prayer was said:- There are four corners on my bed. There are four angels at my head Mattew, Mark, Luke and John. God bless the bed that I lie on.
    when they saw the new moon they recited this prayer:-
    I see the new moon,
    And the new moon sees me,
    God bless the new moon,
    And God bless me.
    There's light in the cottage,
    There's light in the hall.
    And the glory of God,
    Is over us all.
