  1. a 'Geidin' is a small old cranky person
    a 'Girse' or 'Gearcala' is a young girl.
    a 'Garson' or 'Gasson' is a young boy.

    A lot of old people use these words:-
    Cipins - small peices of sticks
    Cearc - a hen
    Gopen - a handful
    Machal - a crowd of people
    Brógs - boots
    Clabar - wet clay
    Cric - a hump on a person's back
    Cogaring - whispering
    Muc - a sow
    Gabhair - a goat

    When a person is milking a cow if she moves they say:-
    ' Tiris - Tar - Arais ' -come back

    a 'Capan' a wooden bowl used for lifting milk

    There are a lot of Clarkes in this district and they are distinguished by putting names on them such as:-
    Phil 'Shéamus' - James Phil
    Phil 'Ruadh' - Red Phil
    James 'Pádaigh' - Paddys James
    Pat 'Bán' - White Pat
    'Pádhraigh Buidhe' - Yellow Paddy
    John 'Mór' - big John
    Paddy 'Beag' - little Paddy
