If a person comes into a house while the butter is being made he should to make it.But some people are afraid he might take the luck from the cows so they place a horseshoe in the churn.
Years ago people rose very early in the Summer to make the butter. They did not want to have the heat of the sun on it.They sometimes covered the the butter with cabbage leaves to keep it cool.
If a man walks on some-one's land on May Eve he takes the luck from the cows. The people will not have any butter for that year.
