- (continued from previous page)They work with a plough. There were wooden ploughs in this district long aho. They are not used now. The spades were bought. All the neighbours work together. They make a big long hole as a pit. They leave the potatoes in the pits during the winter season. We have several kinds of potatoes such as Champions, Lady-Fingers, Aran-Banners, Queens, Golden Millers, Ker Pinks, Aran Victors, British Queens, Leaguers, Champions are the best for eating. They used to make starch from them long ago. I do not know how the starch is made. Potato cakes used to be made from them long ago, and are still made.
