1 "The Smith and the forge".There was one forge in this parish .Pat Mac Inerney was his name.The Mac Inerneys were smiths before him The forge was in Ardsollus .The Blackweir Stream is near the forge ,and the road in nearby.The forge was slated .the door was rectangular. There was one fore-place in the forge .The bellows was made up of a timber frame ,covered with leather.There was a handle attached which used to pump the air under the fire.it was not made at home.The other tools he used were an anvil ,tongs ,sledge hammers, and a poker.he shoes horses ,and asses but he did(continues on next page)- Collector
