In the year 1913 there was a match played between brick-hill and Bearna mor better known now as Ballymorris.
Seventeen men were on each side Mick Gleeson captain of the Brick-hill team and James Hickey captain of the Bearna mór team
Bearna mor won by three or four goals but it was more of a fight than a hurling-match
In the Bearna mor team the best players were the Coffey brothers, Jack Carmody and Kinnavane.
