    The clouds in the east are reddish in the morning.
    The south-west winds blow.
    The curlews cry and the ducks begin to quack.
    The wind blows the dust off the roads.
    The sea-gulls are flying in a circle in the air.
    The moon is clouded or lies on its back.
    Soot falls from the chimneys.
    A single magpie.
    The crows collect together.
    The cricket sings.
    Signs of frosty weather:-
    A blue light is seen in the fires.
    The wild geese fly low.
