  2. Some years ago there was a boat coming up the Shannon with a cargo of Indian corn. The pilot that came on board was drunk. At full tide he drove the boat up on a rock called "Bridge Rock" not far from "Coonagh Point". When the captain saw where he was, he jumped off the bridge with rage. As
