    St. Bridget's Day: A cross of wood or rushes is made and put up in the roof of the kitchen in some houses.
    St. John's night: Bonfires are lighted.
    St. Martin: A cock is killed
    St. Stephen's Day: Boys and grown-ups and a few girls travel the district usually in twos. Three is the largest number you would see together.
    The customs are connected with the other feasts are simply Catholic customs.
    May eve: people used decorate their houses with Beech
