    money then. A fair was held in Rhinanna. There is a road here called the fair road. The Carrigerry fair was called the big fair.
    Buyers went - and still go - from house to house buying cattle.
    A fair was held in Bunratty at a cross called "the fair cross". These fairs are not in existence now. Other fairs held here were Lemenagh, Stonehall and Cnoc na gcon.
    Fairs are now held monthly in Newmarket on Fergus. The big fair is held at Xmas time - Dec. 20th
