  2. My Grandfather told me that there was a hedge school at Annagh near Strokestown about one hundred years ago. My great Grandfather went to that school. It was an indoor school.
    The teacher that taught in this school was John Flynn. He was not a stranger, he lived at Ballyroddy near Mantua chapel. None of the teachers lodged near the schools no matter how far they had to
