  1. Many years ago, there lived an old man and woman on the side of a lonely mountain. They very seldom had a visitor until whenever a poor travelling man or woman would miss their way across the mountain they would ask them for lodging and food and to be directed on the right path. They were very poor themselves but still they refused a night lodging and whatever food they could spare to any poor person.
    One cold snowy winter's night as the old people were preparing
