    The Potato Crop
    We have eighteen acres of land. We sow an acre of potatoes every year.
    The potatoes are sown generally in stubble ground. It is skinned in the beginning of Winter and is left there to rot until Spring. Then it is ploughed and harrowed and the drills are opened about two and a half feet apart.
    The manure is put out and the heaps are about six or seven yards apart.
