The Famine
When the famine came into the country the potatoes and nearly all the other crops went bad. The potato cropp was the most affected, and nearly half the people in Ireland died with the hunger. The tramps and tinkers died in the ditches and the pigs ate them.
The people that were left had to get food and seed potatoes from England and Scotland. They were so hungry that they cut the eyes out of the potatoes and sowed them, and ate the seed.(continues on next page)- Collector
