- Bargy CastleFormerly the residence of
Bagenal Harvey, a Protestant
gentleman, who suffered in
the rebellion of 1798, for his
adherence to the cause of
Ireland. He was beheaded on
Wexford Bridge this headless
remains were brought to
Mayglass churchyard, near
which stands the old church
of Mayglass dedicated to
St. Fintan. The present owners
of the castle are Harveys
descendants of Bagenal Harvey.
The rebellion of 1798 was
plotted in this castle. Bagnal
Harvey and other leaders of
the boys of Wexford were
captured on the Saltee Islands
