    30. Dew snails are hung up in a silk handkerchief overhanging a bowl of crystal sugar. After some time the sugar becomes into a jelly owing to the juice of the snails. This jelly is considered to be a perfect cure for consumption.
    31. Garlic cures worms in a cow's tail. The tail is bound with the garlic.
    32. Near Coldblow there is a holy well called St. John's well. The water in the well is a cure for sore eyes.
    33. Goose grease when put on the chest cures a cold.
    34. Comfrey and the white of an egg are very good for sprains.
    35. When a person burned his finger he rubbed it in his hair or put a pinch of bread soda on it. He also wrapped it in sweet oil.
