- A Cross was found in the Lady's Island lake which is called Lough Togher. The cross is now in Lady's Island chapel. It is under the side altar next to the vestry.
- There is a church path going from the Highlands to the Lady's Island. It comes through Kearns' Street.
- In years gone by there was a monastery in Allenstown. The remains can still be seen. There was also a chapel in Rathmore.

- Fairy Forts
In the Lady's Island graveyard there are the ruins of an old church which was built in the seventh century. There is a holy well not far from Lady's Island and there is a pailing round it.(continues on next page)
