   Ruins o Old Churches.
   No 1
   The Chapel at Kilkevin, Castlerea dates back to St. Patrick.
   We are told, that the thatched church at Kilkevin (built) by the united efforts of St Patrick and St Kevin, was built, dedicated and mass celebrated on its Altar within one week of the date of its foundation.
   This Church at Kilkevin was burned down.

   After the Church at Kilkevin was burned there was at 'Arms' (in a hollow at the back of Staunton's house) a small Church built. This was also a thatched building. Very many years after this Church had fallen to ruins there was found in its
