    I
    No more, aroon, no more for ever!
    At morn or eve, shall return Mavrone!
    The Saggarth's gone, and he's gone forever.
    Neither morn nor eve shall bring back Mavrone,
    Round Dunaveera the mists are sailing;
    In Aga-ga-gune the echoes hailing;
    O'er Thorn's Rock the skies are wailing,
    For Mavrone, aroon! who'll return no more.
    II
    The breeze on Bar-Beine is mournfully blowing;
    The brook in the Logar is plaintively flowing;
    The birds thro' the Alders are silently mourning,
    For the Soggart who's gone without hope of returning.
