  1. O Kerry hills, lov'd Kerry hills Where breaths the Gaelic tongue, Thick spreads the mist; fast fall the tears--My heart with sorrow's wrung! Dear Kerry Hills, why from me fade? Why steal from out my gaze? The last, lov'd spot of Irish land Is merged in misty maze! O the last lov'd spot of Irish land In now in misty maze.
Farewell, farewell, old Kerry hills-- A long farewell to you; O cruel mists that wrap those hills For ever from my view! As Erin's eviles westward wend. And earth's pains and ills, They, sighing, cry there last farewells To Kerry's emerald hills-- They, lonely; bid their sad "good-byes" To Kerry's royal hills
