- There was a woman in Ballinoher and she was
up wan night minding an ould man. About twelve
o clock she heard all the cars and carriages passing outside
the window. She went to the window and she saw
the funeral passing. She tried to wake up the
ould man but she couldn't. Then she tried
to open the door and go up to the kitchen but
she couldn't. There were people on horse-back
and in cars. She saw wan woman and she
knew her. She was living about a mile
away from here.
About two weeks after she was going to Fermany
and then in the Rálhealy road she need always
go. Well, when she came to the Minister's hall
she met a woman on the road with a car
of fish. She knew her well. She took out
the snuff box and took a pinch, and then
she reached the box to her to take a pinch.
The woman said she won't snuff at all.
"Take it, now", says the woman, "And dont be
so proud : and pray for the dead."
