Extract from an article I wrote when making a collection of Irish words & phrases
used in ordinary conversation by our people,
who never for a moment advert to the fact
that these words, etc are pure Irish:-
"An analysis of my collection shows

2. mean & contemptible traits of character;
3. Names of weeds & herbs;
4. domestic & farming utensils & instruments,
many of wh. are long since obsolete.
