About four gallons of cream that is churned at a time. The churning is made by beating the milk with the churndash. All the butter comes to the top of the milk when the churning is finished.- Bailitheoir

- The dash churns are very scare in this district. It is easier to make a churning with a barrel churn. Before the churning is made the churn is cleaned. If the milk is not thick enough to put into the churn it is left near the fire for a few hours.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
