If a person did anything to these forts the "good people" or fairies would harm them. This was the belief of the old people and was proved to be true. A man named Thomas Mulkeen was ploughing a rath and lightning struck the horses and killed them.
In the fort of Lissaniskea music was heard. A man was going home from visiting one night and on reaching the rath he heard grand music. He was so enchanted by the music that he sat(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
