- Since the motor cars and tractors have become more plentiful the horses are hardly needed now only on small farms. There are not so many forges now as there were long ago on account of this. There is a forge in Cloonbuliban, one in Lissaniskea and another in Brickens.
The Cloonbuliban forge is the oldest. The same family have kept the forge going for over a century.
An old belief was that the pucai inhabited the forge long ago. Many stories are told about this.
One story is that one night a white horse was seen outside the forge with three silver shoes on.
