When making a bargain the usual procedure between buyer and seller is striking each others hands, and when the farmer has driven the beast to the place where the buyer tells him he gets paid. If it is a neighbour or acquaintance that buys the cattle they "seal" the bargain with a drink.
The way the buyer marks the cattle he has bought is to tie a piece of ribbon on the animals tail or to put a chalk mark on its back.
