Her dress being pure white with a mass of red golden hair hanging to her waist. Some years ago a scheme for draining of Loch Ruadh was being carried out (by the way the waters of the lake drains into the Shannon). The river was deepened and cleaned and all was done up to a sluce that had been set at the mouth of the river. At Loch Ruaidh the charge herd ordered his men out of the completed cutting and standing on the bank said ? for the man that pulls the sluce. He knew the tradition of trouble for anybody that let the water go. He got nobody to pull the sluce until he offered a soverign and one man from Carrag took a chance. No sooner had the water started to drain from the lake than a shout from the onlookers seemed to warn him that something was wrong and
