- While I was again talking with Mrs. Egan an old woman of Kibride, she told me about the herbs people used long ago for cures. She told me that when people used to get cuts on their hands they used to get plant called Comfree and dig it up from the roots and scrape it and put it to the cuts. This plant she said was about one foot in height with a white blossom on the top of it. She told me also that when people used to have pains in their backs they used to get a plant called Broom and and boil it in milk and drink it. This plant she said was a green one and about five feet in height.
