- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)The women of the district used to spin their own wool, that they get off the sheep. They used to card it, with cards they buy in the shop, and make the wool into little rolls, and spin it with a spinning wheel. Then they used to colour the wool for suiting any colour they want, brown, blue or leave it white.
When they had it spun into thread they sent it to the weaver, and he made cloth of it, sometimes if they had a nice piece they got it pressed from a man that was in the district his name was John McHale, Carrickanass, Carrowmoer, Ballina, Co. Mayo.
Then the tailor would come and make the clothes they wanted out of it. They don't wear any of that now. They buy the material in the shop and leave it at the tailor in(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
