    Men of Ardagh, remember these heartless evictions,
    Willie Hynes, Jimmy Sweeney, Con Healy and Browne.

    When Gardiner and Pringle prosecuted the people,
    Protected by peelers in county and town,
    To day worse than ever the sherrif is busy,
    And the bailiff at work is turning them down,
    And to-day she’s embalmed in Killala’s green church yard,
    And sleeps in her grave neath a cold bed of moss,
    And no worth of praise shall be spoken about her,
    For no one shall weep or mourn her loss.
