where Patrick Flannery of the same address lives now .At that time there was no bank nearer than Castlebar .This man had some urgent bank business to transact and the time ran short unaware of him .In those times there were no motor cars or bicycles to be had .Orme always kept the best hunting horses in the county.
Still he could not depend on the best horse he had to make the journey in time , as it was sixteen Irish miles and he was afraid that the bank might be closed .He had a workman named Luke Connor , Ballycorroon , Crossmolina , Co. Mayo.
Orme '' Joynt'' wrote a note and sent for the workman. When Connor landed the landlord handed the letter to him and told him to go in great haste or he would be at a great loss , if he would not be in Castlebar before the bank closed.
He landed in due time and handed in the note to the bank manager .
